In Home Training
These 1 on 1 sessions are for basic obedience and minor issues. We work on sit, down, place command, recall (come), structured walk (heel), how to crate train, and other low to moderate negative behaviors you are trying to overcome such as counter surfing, marking in the house, hyperactivity, mild anxiety or poor leash manners. The first session, we will talk; A LOT! Because I don’t just teach commands, I teach leadership. I will teach you why your dog is doing what it is doing, what you may be doing to cause the behavioral issue and what you can do to improve it. I will teach you when to correct and when to praise. I will properly introduce a prong collar to your dog and work your dog first. I will then hand the leash over to you and teach you how to lead your dog.
With you in the role of leadership combined with new house rules and structure, your dog can achieve a more balanced mindset. Each session will end with homework and of course you always have support via email, call, or text if you need help in between sessions. The Herm Sprenger prong collar will be included in 1 on 1 training packages. Session usually last approximately 90 mins.

Loose Leash Walking:
Often times we hear people tell us that their dogs are great at home, but when the leash comes out and it’s time to walk, all bets are off. We understand that people will often arrange their schedule just so that they can walk their dogs when they run the lowest chance of running into other dogs or people.
With our loose leash training, we teach you how to train your dog to walk politely without pulling, lagging, lunging, or exhibiting other unwanted behaviors. In the first session we will cover the “Structured Walk”. We will cover the proper tools, body language, and energy. We will cover thresholds, automatic-sits, and proper heel position. We will put all of this together and into action with a peaceful walk.
In our second session, we will work to fine tune any issues you are still struggling with on the walks. We will work with distractions and focus on the “real world” aspect of walking your dog.
Group training classes are held at Healthy Paws Market in Mesa unless otherwise noted.
